Caring With Grace

Hi, my name is Grace and I need your help to raised funds to help me with my work with Caring With Grace to help children affected by cancer and to raise awareness about Pediatric Cancer.
I am a healthy 14 year old girl from CT. After seeing my aunt fighting cancer, I started to wonder if children get cancer, too. I decided to help those children and their families since the cancer journey is very difficult. I want to bring a smile to those children.
In June 2014 I created a group called Caring With Grace to bring smiles to pediatric cancer patients and their siblings by donating NEW hats, books and toys while raising awareness about pediatric cancer. During the summer I sold lemonade to raised funds. I was able to raised $1, 140. I used that money to buy hats and toys I wanted to donate to hospitals and individuals. I also sold lemonade to support other organizations like Alex's Lemonade Stand (I raised $965 for them) that focus on pediatric cancer research as well. I participated at the St. Jude's Give Thanks Walk and found other people to walk with me (We raised $450). Since then I Knew I could make a difference and committed to continue this work and help as much as I can.
I am and advocate and an activist. I have been in awareness events and participated in awareness campaign in Washington D.C, Virginia, Connecticut and New York.
I met with the Mayor and Governor to share my work and ask for their support in future campaigns. Both have been proclaiming September as the Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in CT for the last 4 years! Other polititians have also supported this awareness efforts and supported Bills that will benefit those children. Congressman like Senator Murphy, Senator Blumenthal, Rep. Jim Himes, Senator Carlo Leone, Senator Dan Fox are great advocates for childhood cancer.
I want to help to change the stadistics of Pediatric cancer...
-Pediatric cancer is the #1 cause of death by disease in the U.S in children
-7 children die every day because of cancer.
-Less than 4% of the NHI is use for pediatric cancer research
-About 43 children are diagnosed daily with cancer.
-IT"S NOT RARE!
Now, Caring With Grace makes donations to:
-The Smilow Cancer Hospital @Yale.
-Yale New Haven Children's Hospital.
-Roald McDonald Hous of Charities of Connecticut.
-Connecticut Children's Medical Center.
-Children that we meet or the ones that reach out to me.
I also created 3 programs to support cancer patients:
1) Day of kindness
2)Painting With Grace
3)Locks of Kindness
Bringing donations are a wonderful way to bright pediatric cancer patients day and to let their families know that we are thinking of them and we care for them. I like to personalize those gifts and send things that the children will really enjoy when they reach out to me.
I organized hat, books and toy drives at schools and stores. I encourage people to organize them at their work place as well. Luckily, I was able to have few fundraising events, but still I find myself getting a lot of the things myself. I need your help so I can cover those expenses and continue to make donations.
I hope you can make any donation if you support my cause. I am very serios about my mission with Caring With Grace and I am 100% comitted to make a difference for pediatric cancer patients. I'm also inspiring other children to get involved and to help me.
On March 29th 2015 I shaved my head at a St. Baldricks Foundation event in Weston, CT! I wanted to raise awareness about pediatric cancer and I #BraveTheShave! Since then I have been putting a team together for other to support this cause with me.
