St. Vincent Emergency Aid - Help Needed!
Donation protected
WHAT HAPPENED?
At 8:40am on April 9, 2021, the La Soufrière volcano in St. Vincent and the Grenadines reached an explosive eruption stage and 16,000 residents were evacuated.
SVG now faces multiple crises: the COVID-19 pandemic, an outbreak of dengue fever, and the explosive eruption of the La Soufrière volcano.
WHAT CAN WE DO FOR SVG?
CARI-ON, and the team of organizations under the SVG Disaster Relief Initiative Platform (SVG-DRIP) have come together to acquire and ship emergency items to SVG for the displaced residents. The SVG DRIP team has sent PPE and various types of emergency supplies to our beloved SVG over the past few months. We need your donation to help us cover the cost of purchasing and shipping items to SVG. Donations will be sent directly to the National Emergency Management Organization in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
We hope we can count on you for your support and generosity in the best interest of our beloved nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. May God bless our nation.
Should you like to make an e-transfer donation instead, please send it here: [email redacted]
WHO IS CARI-ON?
CARI-ON (Conducting Active Relief Impacting Our Nation) SVG Disaster Preparedness is a non-profit organization based in Toronto, Canada. We provide needed resources and relief efforts to help communities in SVG cope with natural disasters. We collaborate with a team of major non-profit SVG organizations in the diaspora such as National Council of SVG Associations UK, SVG Relief Inc. USA, SVG Central Florida Organization Inc. and Friends of SVG. All of these organizations are aligned with the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Diaspora Relief Initiative Platform (SVG DRIP).
Over the past 6 months we have procured and shipped 40 cots, 3200 face masks and approximately 1000 family emergency kits - a combined value of approximately $50,000.
