Welcome to Carisk's 8th Annual Hope for the Holidays Campaign!

=====

Following our tremendous success in raising over $20,000 last year with our Hope for the Holidays campaign, we are excited to support five very worthy organizations in our Florida communities this year.

This holiday season, 100% of your tax-deductible donations will benefit the following agencies, each providing much-needed services, support, healing and hope to men, women and children who really need our help.

Fresh Start Miami - Miami, FL

Fresh Start Miami is a peer-run organization dedicated to fostering recovery and enhancing the lives of persons diagnosed with a mental health disorder. They operate a Drop-In Center, where adults grappling with addiction and other challenges can walk into life skills classes, workshops on recovery, arts and crafts, and group discussions, 7 days a week.

Serving the South Florida community since 2000, they also lead community-wide advocacy efforts to help reduce the stigma around mental health challenges, and started a Peers on the Move program that helps men and women discharging from the state psychiatric hospital reintegrate into the community.

Fresh Start also holds an annual field day event for patients and colleagues. The Friendship Games brings together numerous patients and staff from behavioral health organizations across Miami-Dade County to participate in sports, a talent show, poetry readings, and meals together.

Ronald McDonald House Charities - Jacksonville, FL

Since 1988, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville (RMHC) has been the “home” to over 40,000 families whose children are seeking medical treatment at one of Jacksonville’s premier pediatric healthcare facilities.

In 2016, RMHC expanded their House in Jacksonville to 53-bedrooms in order to serve more families with sick children. The expansion has allowed them to meet the increased need for their services, including more common area spaces, kitchens, dining rooms, laundry facilities, play areas and a peaceful rooftop garden which are so important to creating a “home away from home”.

RMHC seeks to make every family's stay as comfortable as possible so they can focus on the healing of their child. Guest rooms are well-appointed, there are playrooms for children to bond and create relationships with one another, there's a gym, a theater room, a relaxation loft, and a chapel that offers a quiet space for peace and spiritual aid.

The Inner Truth Project offers outreach to the community and services to survivors of sexual violence, allowing them to bravely share the truth about their experiences in a safe environment in order to actualize emotional strength, hope, health and well being.

The Inner Truth Project believes every woman and man should have the opportunity to feel safe and free from shame while speaking their truth.
