Carissa Intracranial Hypertension Surgery
Donation protected
I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) and as a result, I was also diagnosed with papilledema (Paps). IIH, previously known as pseudotumor cerebri, is a rare neurological condition (occurs in 1 in 100,000) that causes the overproduction of spinal fluid for an unknown reason, which leads to too much pressure inside the skull. On February 16th I will having brain surgery. I am needing my friends and family to please help because we are financially destitute. I don't have insurance and we are struggling. Because of Aaron's health and the three future surgeries of his own. He is not being able to work and now I am only able to work part-time until I get better. (as long as I don't lose it first) I have lost my peripheral vision and have to go to the opthalmologist every 3 weeks which cost me $400 just to make sure I am not going permanently blind. Between the 3 different doctors I have to see and the medication I have to take along with the initial partial procedure payment that will be due before the surgery can even happen it has all become a financial burden. Sorry if this post is confusing, brain fog and cognitive problems are one of the side effects.
