Carl Byrd's Legacy: A Family in Need
Donation protected
Hi everyone. My brother-in-law, Carl Byrd (Junior), was admitted to the hospital for back pain. Four days later, they were giving him oxygen for low levels. The next day, he went into cardiac arrest, and it took 25 minutes to bring him back. In that time, he went without oxygen to the brain. Since then, he has coded and had seizures several times. The doctors pronounced him brain dead on Friday, 12/6. While his son was heading to Indiana to say goodbye, my sister received a call at 3 am that the meds they were giving him to maintain a heartbeat weren't working anymore, so she rushed to the hospital, and at 6:03 am Saturday morning, he was pronounced dead. He fought long and hard, especially with stage 5 kidney failure and living on daily dialysis. He was a great husband and father. His sudden death left his wife not only with the cost of funeral expenses but also no income as he was the sole breadwinner of their family. I'm asking for any help you can give. Even if it's to share. Thank you in advance.
