Carl Griffin Sr. Memorial Fundraiser
Donation protected
I am Carmen Griffin. I'm raising money to assist in the memorial and final expenses of our father.
Carl Griffin Sr. was a pastor who had a heart for helping and serving people. He worked for more than a decade at Wayside Rescue Mission in Aurora, IL, a shelter and rehabilitation center for drugs and alcohol.
Besides his passion for helping people, music was his first love, a love that he definitely instilled in his children and grandchildren. Carl had a vocal range from first tenor to bass, but his first tenor rivaled with the best of the best!
In August 2024, he was diagnosed with stage 3 small cell lung cancer. Due to other health issues with his kidneys and heart, he wasn't strong enough for surgery or chemotherapy. Doctors thought radiation was a safer alternative. After only 4 days of a 30-day regimen, he became too weak to care for himself and was hospitalized for 2 months before going to a long-term rehabilitation center on December 13th. On December 16th, Carl answered God's call and closed his eyes.
We, his children, want to give our father, who loved us our entire lives, a proper homegoing celebration. Something that he deserves after a life of serving people, teaching them about, and leading them to God.
No donation is too small. Your assistance is appreciated.
