Donation protected
Carl Johnson has fought long and hard with his battle with esophageal cancer. His treatments started in Aug and after chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery he was unable to fight off the cancer. We need help due to him not having life insurance with his funeral expenses. We appreciate anything you can help with.

Carl Johnson lost his battle with Cancer. I am his daughter, and he was my hero.
Dad was a loving father to three children and a grandfather ten times over. He spread love and jokes wherever he went. He gave the shirt off his back to anyone in need. I have seen him do it. Growing up, I watched him work on people's cars who were scraping by and refuse to charge them even though we were also scraping by,
He was at least 20,000 dollars in the hole right now, and I haven't even seen the chemo bill yet.
In July 2023, Dad was diagnosed with Stage 2 Esophageal cancer at the esophageal junction. He has a malignant tumor where his esophagus meets his stomach. Dad spent a couple of weeks in the hospital and learned the cancer was inoperable because it was too large. He had G-tube surgery immediately so he could eat via tube feeding--he had already lost 53 pounds and could not hold down solid food.
My Dad walked through life at a solid 160 pounds. He's now 107pounds. He lives on pudding, shakes, and water; chemotherapy makes even those substances hard to keep down.
Dad was three weeks into his chemotherapy and radiation treatment at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital/Cancer Center in Surry County North Carolina. He received radiation five days a week, chemo every other week, and does his doctor-ordered follow-up visits and bloodwork. This regimen goes on for seven weeks. Then, there is a re-scan to see if the tumor has shrunk enough to be operable. They were able to operate in January to remove the tumor but he had not recovered since. He came down with pneumonia few weeks ago and as unable to recover.
My Dad was like many Americans of his generation--someone who worked his whole life without assistance, kept his family above water with a modest and respectable living, and crossed the finish line to his golden years of fixed-income living on social security. And now he is told that between his and my mother's social security, he is not eligible for any social programs that could stop the financial bleeding.
The one time he needs help, he learns he just barely does not qualify for what many folks can tap into without issue. The copays are enormous. The collateral expenses are overwhelming. We desperately need help. He did not have life insurance and we need to raise funds for his funeral expenses.
No matter the amount, every donation is an invaluable contribution. Your generosity provides so much help in our time of need.
Please keep him in your prayers; anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated.
