Carla Beverly's Medical Costs

Many of you may know my parents, Bud and Carla Beverly, through their role in Conservus Real Estate - or as the pastor of Harvest Community Church in Kingsport. I know they are deeply loved by so many. I'd like to give you an update on what life has looked like for our family, my mom in particular, over the past couple of weeks.
A couple of weeks ago, Carla Beverly (my mom) was sent in for a CT Scan. Less than 24 hours later we learned that scan showed a mass in her head, and very soon after that - an MRI was done that revealed a large brain tumor on her left side. As you can imagine, receiving that news was heavy and scary for her, as it was for the rest of our family. We are so thankful that the doctors feel that the tumor is benign - and they will do a biopsy once it is removed to make sure this is the case. The tumor must be removed and is entangled in many nerves that affect the left side of her face, as well as hearing in her left ear, they believe what she has is called an Acoustic Neuroma.
Surgeons here in Kingsport have immediately referred her to Duke University Hospital. Her surgeon there said that because there are so many important nerves running through the tumor, they would typically use radiation to shrink it. However, because the tumor is so large, a very intricate surgery will be required. They will be bringing in a second surgeon that is skilled to work with the entangled nerves. This will allow them to try and get her out of surgery without further hearing loss in her left ear, or feeling loss in the left side of her face. We fully believe that God will place her in the hands of whoever He wants to use for this and that she will have fully restored feeling, functionality, and comfort to all areas that have been impacted by the tumor!
Many people have been asking us how they can give to support my parents as financial responsibilities rise through this process. We wanted to create this page as a way for you who desire to give any amount to do that. Of course a surgery of this caliber - as well as the months of rehabilitation afterward - will be very costly. We also know that visits to Duke, the hotel stays, gas, and food while they are there will add up as well. Thank you to everyone who has already expressed the desire to support them in this way. My family is incredibly blessed to be surrounded with so many people who desire to show love and support in whatever ways they can.
I would ask that you please join us in prayer and faith to see complete healing in my mom. My family will continue to choose not to be moved by what we see or feel, but instead - lean on the promises of the One who loves us, who knows details of my mom's situation far more than doctors can ever know, and we look ahead with expectant hearts knowing that God will bring big beautiful things out of this journey. Please stand with us in praise to Him as He walks before us through every step!
Thank you so much,
Kayla (Beverly) Stroud
