Carla & Chopper

Hi my name is Karissa and I’m fundraising for my Uncle, Auntie and 2 puppies who were involved in an attempted murder hit and run in Gympie, Queensland (as per news report on 23 May 2023).

Carla and Brett were walking their dogs in their neighbourhood, as they do every single evening. Sadly, this put them in the path of a 4WD driver, who jumped in his car purposely and attempted to take their lives. He tried multiple times to run them down in which he did successfully. We have also just found out he was driving drunk and well over the limit.

Carla was airlifted to the RBWH from Gympie with extensive life threatening injuries and she currently remains in a coma. Chopper, their family pet, has gone missing and is feared to have died due to injuries sustained.

My uncle has a broken leg so on top of this horrific turn of events, he is unable to work. Carla has a very long road to recovery, although the next few days are critical.

We want to fundraise as much as we can, as they have no income, no income protection and unfortunately bills still need to be paid.
