Carla Gardner

We lost our beloved Carla, unexpectedly, near the end of November.

Carla dedicated herself to making others happy and healthy. She was a caregiver, a personal trainer and was the healthiest person I knew.

Carla had gone with one of her caregiving clients to the hospital after the client suffered a stroke. Carla then had what she thought was a panic attack, not knowing she had a lung infection or pneumonia and was having a heart attack. She was transported to Flagstaff Cardiac Unit where she succumbed to the heart attack.

Carla didn’t realize she was ill and she was young and very healthy, thus she had not planned for anything like this to happen. Without a will or any life insurance, Carla’s sons were left to pay for the cremation, mortgage on the house and all the other bills.

Carla’s boys would never ask any of her friends for help and they didn’t. But we reached out and offered and due to the overwhelming and unexpected costs involved, they accepted the offer.

Carla, aka Bam Wow, was a member of Dirty Verde Roller Derby from the very beginning through to the end of our team’s existence and we would never have been the team we were without her. Please help us raise funds to lessen the financial blow to the already present mourning of our dear friend.
