Carlos Villanueva of La Pryor passed away on May 9, 2021 at University Hospital at the age of 73. He was born on October 22, 1947 in La Pryor, Texas to Valentin Villanueva and Marina Ortiz.
He is survived by his wife, Viola Bermea Villanueva of La Pryor; daughters, Angelica Villanueva and husband, Anthony Gallegos, Maria Esperanza Villanueva and Carla Ann Villanueva all of La Pryor; sons, Carlos Villanueva, Jr., and wife, Dora Delgado Villanueva, Danny Joe Villanueva and wife, Kelly and John Robert Villanueva and companion, Missy Contreras all of La Pryor; brothers, Gonzalo Villanueva, Valentine Villanueva, Jr. and Ruben Villanueva all of La Pryor; 15 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Felipe Villanueva and sister, Guadalupe Villanueva.
Visitation will begin on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in La Pryor. Interment will follow at La Pryor Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danny Joe Villanueva, John Robert Villanueva, Gabriel Castillo, Sammy Castillo, Juan Carlos Villanueva, Justin David Villanueva. Honorary pallbearer will be Carlos Villanueva Jr.
