Dear Friends,
I am going to travel abroad this coming fall, taking a semester leave from college to go see the world. I will be traveling around Europe by myself for 2 1/2 months, beginning late July. Following that, I will be meeting up with a friend and going to Uganda for 7 weeks.
While in Europe, I will visit former Chico High School exchange students from Denmark and Spain as well as exploring possibly Ireland and Greece. I am also planning on “WWOOFing” (WWOOF = Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms) in either Italy or France while I am in Europe as well. WWOOF is an exceptional program that lets you travel around the world and work on farms in exchange for food and board.
In Uganda, I will be volunteering at a vocational school called AHI (African Hospitality Institute) that helps provide impoverished Ugandan youth (ages 17-25) with the skills they will need to be successful in the competitive job market in that country. While helping teach English classes and basic skills there.
I know some people are experiencing financial difficulty right now, but I would truly appreciate any donations, no matter how modest. Your contributions will help me make this once-in-a-lifetime trip a reality and my long-held dream of going to Africa come true.
Thank you so much!
Gratefully,
Carly Jones
