This Mommy Is Sick Of Stupid Cancer!

Hi everyone! Thank you kindly for taking the time to read my story. I’m Carly, a 39 yr old mom to two wonderful sons, 5 & 7 yrs old. Both are happy, healthy, and full of energy. Me on the other hand, not so much. It's surreal, but it's already been almost 4 full months since I found my lump. Just like so many others, I never thought I'd hear those words: "you have breast cancer," but I did. I found my lump February 3rd, I went straight into action mode and had it checked out. I'm not the responsible type who performs monthly self-breast exams, it was a lucky chance finding. Despite the many "I'm sure it's just a cyst," well-meaning comments, I knew it wasn't good news.
Although it's been almost 2 months, my mastectomy & removal of 2 lymph nodes (CLEAR OF CANCEROUS CELLS yay), a Mediport Placement (for chemo), and then another surgery due to Hematoma, and weeks of recovery, I finally began my 4 month treatment of chemotherapy on may 16th.
Hopefully in 6 months or so I'll have the other mastectomy, and then finally reconstructive surgery. I have a LOT of expenses and will soon have even more due to housing costs. I don't want to miss more time than I already have w my boys, this is scary for them as well.
It's going to be a journey and I'll be more than appreciative if you can help. If not, please just send happy thoughts and share this link. I promise I'll pay it forward in big ways as soon as I'm able. Thank you, Carly
