To know her is to love her! Those who know anything about Carmen Swain, know that she is a faithful daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend! Carmen’s spirit is effervescent, and she has a servant’s heart! To say the least, Carmen’s relentless persistence, fervent work- ethic, fearless character, and genuine authenticity are just a few of the qualities that make Carmen so lovable!
On the morning of June 12, 2020, precious and vibrant, 33 year-old Carmen Swain was driving for Uber when she picked up four males. According to the report, which Carmen was able to render to police, one of the perpetrators requested for her to turn left, but her GPS directed her to turn right. After following the directions given via the Uber app, the assailant stated, “You went the wrong way” and shot her multiple times in the back. She sustained multiple internal wounds including a critical spinal cord injury. While she remains in ICU, we are declaring, decreeing, and praising God daily for her complete healing from head to toe.
Carmen is the oldest of three and dearly loves her two younger brothers who are devastated by this senseless travesty. Carmen’s parents, Charles and Elaine Swain, have been overwhelmed by the love, prayers and support, which have come from her family, church family, classmates, friends, and associates. A day has not gone by where countless people have not expressed their desire to help support Carmen in any way possible. It is unfortunate that neither family nor friends are permitted to visit Carmen because of the presence of COVID 19; but we all know that almighty God is always with her.
This crowd funding tool was suggested at the request of one of Carmen’s Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy (SACA) sisters to allow family and friends to donate love offerings as led, and to help take care of Carmen’s affairs while she is in the hospital, and once she is at home and healing.
On behalf of Carmen’s dad, mom, brothers, family, friends, and other supporters, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued prayers and support for her complete healing!
