Hi, my name is Shaina Pugh and I’m fundraising for my Aunt Carol Arakawa. March 2021 a simple doctor’s visit due to a side pain completely flipped my Aunt’s world upside down! Doctor’s found a mass in her lungs. After further investigation and several biopsies she was diagnosed with Lung Cancer and doctors discovered the lump had metastasized in her ribs.
Since being diagnosed Aunty Carol has undergone radiation and recently completed her 3rd round of Chemotherapy. This is a long uphill battle(doctors estimate 3 years) but with the support from loving family and friends she continues to remain positive and determined to kick cancer’s butt.
Unfortunately, due to side effects from the Chemo Aunty Carol is unable to return to work and was recently notified by her employer that her medical benefits will be coming to an end effective September 1st. This has brought a great deal of stress and worry as Chemotherapy treatments are very costly.
Aunty Carol and our family are so grateful for all of the outpouring Aloha and Kokua that has already been given. I ask for your continued support. These funds will go towards medical costs and everyday needs for my Aunt Carol throughout this journey. Any and every little bit counts.
