Carol Fairey's Legacy: Support Grinnell Library
Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,
On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, Carol Fairey passed away peacefully in her sleep and went to be with her Lord. Carol was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and follower of Christ. Carol was a strong and steadfast believer in Jesus Christ, a true prayer warrior, and a student of God’s Word. She dedicated her life to serving others with a selfless and unconditional love that mirrored Christ’s teachings. For nearly 40 years, she was an active member of Faith Assembly of God (now known as The Gathering at Faith Assembly), where she served as a Sunday school teacher, mentor to women and young couples, and home Bible study coordinator. Carol's careful selection of Bible study materials and her training of leaders had a lasting impact on countless lives. Anyone who knew her also knew she had the rare gift of turning a stranger into a friend with just a smile and a few kind words. She made everyone feel special simply by the way she listened and genuinely cared.
A graduate of Wilbur Cross High School and Southern Connecticut State University, Carol earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Health Education. One of the fondest memories her sons have of her is when she loaded them up in the car and traveled to their local library, Grinnell Public Library, in the village of Wappingers Falls. These frequent trips became a favorite outing for the family. It was clear that Carol had a desire to pass on her lifelong love of learning and passion for education to her sons. We wish to honor this desire. In lieu of flowers, we invite those who wish to honor our mother’s memory to contribute to this fund, which will be collected and donated to the Grinnell Public Library. This donation will reflect her belief in the power of education and her love of learning. Your generosity will help support a library that meant so much to her and will continue to inspire others as she always did.
With love and gratitude,
The Fairey Family
