Carol Gehrke - Fighting Stage 4 Cancer

On October 28th, our Mom was getting ready for work, but wasnt feeling well. She's a clerk at the local DMV. At 72, she should retire but enjoys the company of her coworkers (and continues to work to maintain the family homestead). She was in too much pain to actually make it into work and instead the day ended with an emergency trip to the hospital. The reason for Mom's pain: a large tumor in her colon. After more CT scans, we find that it is now in her liver as well. Stage 4 Colon Cancer.

The first chemo appointment was set as we mentally preparred, but a 2nd emergency trip to the hospital resulted in surgery, two weeks in the hospital. Chemo was delayed and Mom's treatment plan had gone sideways.

One chemo treatment in, Mom continues to try to go to work, but is simply too weak and tired. Our family is hoping to raise funds to help with the inevitable stack of bills that is growing as she is unable to go back to work right now and future medical expenses.

Any amount helps and would be greatly appreciated at this time...Our hope is to raise enough so that she can focus on what she needs to right now: her battle with cancer.
