Carol Kosloski - Stage 4 Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Our mother, Carol, was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer in the summer of 2017. She was experiencing severe pain in her back and the pain was found to be from the cancer spreading to her spine. She has been in treatment since, and we're grateful some tumors have shrunk, but the reality is she most likely won't experience a complete remission.
Additionally, she just experienced another setback this fall as she was diagnosed with Diverticulitis and had to undergo a major surgery to address it. She spent an additional month in the hospital recovering from surgery and working to get strong enough to come back home. We are happy to report that she is now back home! Through all of this, she continues her chemotherapy treatment and still manages to keep a positive attitude.
Unfortunately, she has not been able to work since her diagnosis due to her back pain, the side effects of chemo and the physical nature of her work. She does not have access to disability insurance or medical leave benefits. We are asking for funds to help her continue to pay for her health insurance and remain in the home she loves as long as possible.
For our friends, family and kind strangers who are reading this, we appreciate any contribution you can offer, whether that's a monetary gift, a message of support or positive thoughts sent Carol's way. She has faced a lot of hardship in her life, and continues to show us how to face adversity with patience, humor and love.
