CAROLE GURGONE

Hi, my name is Jeanne Stiastny, I am fundraising for my sister Carole.

Carole just turned 62 in December and has been diagnosed with PSP, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. PSP is a rare neurodegenerative disorder that affects movement, gait and balance, speech, swallowing, vision, behavior and thinking. There are 4 stages of PSP, early, mid, advanced and end of life stage. To date there is no cure and life expectency is 5-7 years. Carole is in the mid stage. It is heartbreaking to see her change from a happy, full of life person to how she is today. Carole is being cared for by her husband Ken.

Our goal is to raise money to help her stay ambulatory as long as possible. Ken will need to hire home health care for Carole very soon. There are mounting medical bills and co-payments for therapies. As Carole enters the advanced stage she will need additional medical equipment to help care for her.
