Carole's medical fund fighting Lyme

We have created a Go Fund Me page because our great friend Carole, whom we have known since high-school,  was finally diagnosed with Lyme Disease 5 years ago after being very sick and misdiagnosed for over 2 years.  

Below are Carole's words as to why she needs a medical fund.

Dear All,

I now know that I have Lyme Disease and it has forever changed my life.  Because of the misdiagnosis my condition became severe and I have been unable to function, work or live a normal life in any way.  Since the diagnosis, I have tried several treatments, but the treatment I underwent was not successful enough. I have been truly suffering from my condition without much hope.  For those of you who know someone who has been diagnosed with Lyme Disease, you know how brutally severe it can be and how it can affect every part of your life.  But I have hope!

I am in urgent need of a comprehensive treatment.  There is an excellent Lyme Disease doctor in Maryland who specializes in Lyme disease (Dr. Jansek) and who has successfully treated a trusted friend of mine.  Unfortunately, I cannot afford his services because I have been too sick to work much since I contracted this disease and because, sadly, insurance covers very little.  I am trying hard to raise $10,000 dollars to cover the cost of the doctor visits, tests needed, medication and travel to see the doctor.

I live in South Florida where there is very little Lyme of course, and therefore no accomplished Lyme specialists here. For this reason, I must see a Lyme specialist in Maryland (which is where most of my family now resides). I am too ill to travel alone so I am forced to travel with my parents.  This is one of the reasons why I have had to request such a large sum because I will have to travel back and forth a few times, in addition to covering the doctor’s fee for him to follow me and of course to mostly cover the medications he will prescribe.

I would like to raise $5,000 within 1 month, and another $5,000 within the 2nd month.  

I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and for each and every contribution.  Thank you truly.  When I get better, I intend to find a way to pay this forward too.
