Carolina's third bowel surgery

On October 12, 2021, a pivotal moment in my health journey unfolded as I underwent stomach surgery. The decision for this surgical intervention stemmed from a distressing discovery made on September 13; a malignant tumor had been detected, menacingly encroaching on 50% of my stomach lining. With grave concern for the aggressive spread of the tumor, the medical specialists deemed surgery imperative. In a bold and decisive move, 80% of my stomach was excised to thwart further advancement of the insidious growth and mitigate potential complications.

Following the initial surgery, a new chapter of challenges emerged on November 17, 2023, when I underwent a subsequent operation necessitating the creation of a colostomy. This unexpected turn in my medical narrative has now brought me to a critical juncture, compelling the need for yet another surgical intervention to facilitate the reconnection of my intestine. However, the looming obstacle of financial constraints looms large, casting a shadow of uncertainty over my path to recovery. The exorbitant costs associated with this impending surgery present a formidable barrier, leaving me in a predicament where the health of my body stands in stark contrast to the health of my finances. A poignant plea for assistance echoes through the chambers of my heart, as I grapple with the daunting reality of an uncertain future in the face of mounting medical expenses.
