Caroline Kill Recovery from Burn Injuries and TBI

Donation protected
On November 14, 2022, Leawood Mom and beloved science teacher Caroline Kill was burned alive in a fiery, horrifying crash, which made national news.
Through the quick and heroic actions of Leawood first responders, she lived. But her road to recovery has not been easy and will continue for years. She was burned over a third of her body, including much of her face and her entire back. She was in a medically-induced coma for many weeks. She awoke to the fight of her life. Since the accident, she has endured more than 15 surgeries, including the painful reconstruction of her eyelids, with the hopes of retaining some sight. Most recently (March 2023) she suffered a subdermal hematoma and is recovering from brain surgery to stop bleeding in her brain.
The medical costs are anticipated to exceed what her insurance will cover, and she will be unable to work. The family will need enormous help to manage this tragic situation.
