Caroline (Krause) Beaker Brain Surgery Fund
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Terri and my sister-in-law Caroline (Krause) Beaker, a young 53-year-old Registered Nurse, recently found out she needs brain surgery next month. Caroline has a Macroadenoma (large pituitary brain tumor) and a meningioma (a smaller tumor of the meninges).
The Macroadenoma is invading the cavernous sinus of her brain too close to the internal carotid artery to remove the entire tumor. Caroline may need to undergo radiation, if not after surgery possibly at a later date. The neurosurgeon Dr. Lillehei is the Director of Neurosurgery and Neuro-Oncology at UCHealth Anschutz with 43 years of experience. Caroline is very confident with him doing this scary surgery.
Now comes our request for help. Caroline switched employers back in May and had to buy her short-term disability, only to find out they will NOT cover her for a new diagnosis made within a year of starting. All of her expenses for this surgery and time off, here in Colorado are extremely high! She will be in ICU between 1-5 days if all goes well, then unable to work for at least 4 more weeks. One of her best friends, Robin, will be flying out to take care of her when she gets out of the hospital, and care for her dog, Max. Caroline will NOT be able to get by financially during this time without our help! Caroline has been an RN for over 28 years and has always tried to be the most caring and compassionate nurse, mother, friend and family member.
Any good vibes and/or prayers would be greatly appreciated for a full and fast recovery. Thank you for any donation or for simply sharing this post.
