4 months ago my life was turned upside down. I was told I had stage 4 triple negative breast cancer. I am a true girly girl. I love to get my hair done (prolly to much), my nails and toes done, and be all around girly. When I started to get chemo my worst fear was given to me, your hair is going to all fall out. I was devastated. I was told some insurance company’s will pay a certain percentage of a completely natural wig. All I would have to do is submit a picture of me hair, and take measurements of my head. This wig would be complete fitted to my head and you wouldn’t even be able to see I was going to be balled. It gave me the hope I needed to feel like a complete woman again. They told me the price of it. $1800, omg! I called my insurance and was told they would cover 1400 of it and I thought to myself well 400 isn’t as bad as 1800, ok let’s do it. In order for them to start on my wig they had to have payment in full. I charged this entire purchase to my credit card because I was told all I would need is my receipts given to the insurance company for them to reimburse me. Well then this corona 19 happened. The hair salon was put on delay, I am completely bald now wearing hats daily. Well I hear back from the insurance and the ticket has been open to long and they are not paying for it anymore. I can’t believe it. I call the hair salon and tell them what has happened and ask them to cancel the order since I haven’t even received the wig anyway. Well the hair salon says sorry we do not do refunds under any circumstances. Well crap. Now the insurance won’t pay and the hair salon doesn’t care, they actually suggested doing this page. I normally would never ask for help, however I would have never spent this much on hair if I would have known the insurance and salon would be against me. My hair meant everything to me. Now I stand in a mirror and cry every day and night not recognizing the woman I see in the mirror. I don’t recognize the woman I see when I wake up. The woman my children and grandchildren see. Please help me from the bottom of my heart.
