Help Carol on the Road to Recovery
Donation protected
After weeks of pain following a fall on her birthday, on September 25th Carol suffered a stroke while at work.
In mid-July, while enjoying the Hot Springs for her birthday, Carol slipped and fell. Many people fall at the Springs and so it was shrugged off in the spirit of a good time. But when she was still having pain a few weeks later, she went in for a routine doctors visit and discovered she had a blood clot in her leg.
We were shocked but the doctor reassured us and provided medication to treat the clot.
Unfortunately, it only got worse after that.
Taking a daily regiment of what Carol deemed "The Pill from Hell", she experienced severe stomach pain, nose bleeds and blurred/lost vision constantly. She worked through these 'side-effects' knowing that the medicine should help save her life, and being dismissed on repeated doctors visits.
Three agonizing weeks later, Carol was at work when she suffered a stroke and lost control of the left side of her body. After being rushed to the hospital she was told they could not operate or administer anti-clotting medicine, due to the medication that should have prevented the stroke.
Carol is now on the road to recovery, and learning to regain control of the left-side of her body. She's staying positive by setting her sights on holding her two beautiful grand-babies again soon.
While all our spirits are high, we're still looking for support in this time of need.
Carol is currently facing over $10,000 for the initial treatment of the clot in her leg, as well as tens of thousands more for the cost of hospitalization and physical therapy from the stroke. (We will be posting updates as the situation progresses.)
We appreciate the kind words, thoughts and prayers offered by friends and loved ones.
Thank you for your love and support.
