The Torr Family

Carol has touched the lives of countless families and friends during her 20 years as a teacher at The Treehouse preschool here in Basking Ridge. Children and parents alike are immediately drawn to her kind and warm-hearted personality. Many parents ask specifically to have their child in Carol's class because of her incredible way with the kids. Carol opens the school each and every morning, setting up her classroom for the early arrivals, ready to greet each student with her usual warm smile and a hug. Parents leave knowing their children are in the best of hands and are off to a great start.
Carol's friends and coworkers, many of whom have worked with her for her entire tenure, describe Carol as, "kind, compassionate, funny, sweet, caring, thoughtful, sensitive, sincere, and loyal". Another friend says, "She's a nature lover. She puts spiders back outside for crying out loud!".
Last weekend, two days before his 65th birthday, Carol's husband Mike passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. This September would have marked their 40th wedding anniversary. As expected, Carol has been left grief stricken and in shock. But she carries on for her two sons, Michael and Steven, and for the many families of Treehouse who depend on her. There are many loose ends for Carol to tie up, including Mike's business and many bills. She will tackle all of this in the same manner in which she approaches life; graciously and with incredible spirit.
Her friends at Treehouse have put together this fundraising effort in the hopes to make this process a little easier for Carol and her sons. It is in this effort that we all hope to give back to Carol, showing her how much her love and friendship has meant to so many through the years.
