This is my Aunty.
People call her Carolyn or Caro.
I call her
"Ucle".
Thirteen children call her "nanny".
Four people call her "mum".
And my Uncle calls her "love".

In 2018, Ucle was diagnosed with breast cancer and a tumour was found on her pituitary gland.
In 2019, she went into remission, however in November the cancer returned in her liver and was labelled as terminal. She was given 12-15 months.
In 2020, a cancerous lesion developed in her brain causing her health to rapidly drop.

My aunty's life expectancy has now been shortened to weeks.
We have been advised from specialists to not proceed with available treatments  for the lesion and liver  as it has major risks involved offering no certainty of extended life or that of a quality life. My Aunty has made the brave decision to stop all treatments and focus on pain-related medication, focusing on quality of life over extended life.

I speak on behalf of my entire family when I say none of us are ready to say our goodbyes. We are emotionally overwhelmed and there are days we pretend that this isn't real. We are doing all that we can to make her laugh, keep her spirits up and hold her hand when she needs it just like she did for us time and time again growing up.

Since 2018, she has been unable to work and her request to receive financial support  from the government was declined putting my Uncle under financial pressure. She is currently on 7 different medications to manage her pain and needs 24/7 care which is very costly.  The majority of our extended family live in New Zealand and the few family members that live in Perth have all taken time off work to help support and care for her but not going to work means no income which in means we are not able to financially support my aunty.

We humbly create this page with love for my aunty and in the hopes that the generosity of others would be extended to her in the form of thoughts and/or prayers and financial support to help cover the cost of medication, basic living expenses, a release of financial pressure and eventually, with great heartache, funeral costs.

Thank you for your consideration and contribution.
