Carolyn's Life Changed in the Blink of an Eye

Hi, my name is Laura McCamon and I am fundraising for Carolyn Scott of Nanaimo. The morning after a gathering of friends and loved ones, Carolyn woke up in so much pain that she could not move her arms or legs. Two weeks later, she was a patient on the Leukemia Ward of Vancouver General Hospital, trying to digest the diagnosis of an aggressive form of leukemia.
Carolyn has never hesitated to help those in need. I met Carolyn when she worked in the paint department of Home Hardware. My husband and I came in looking for help on a makeover of our kitchen countertop. Carolyn gave us advice, and then when she learned that we lived near her, she stopped by on her way home from work to see what we were doing and help us out. We have been friends ever since. We are not the only people that Carolyn has helped in the many years I've known her, but now she needs our help.
Carolyn is currently living in the Cancer Lodge of Vancouver and will be there until at least the end of February 2023. She will undergo a regular chemotherapy regime and whatever else the doctors can throw at her to kill the cancer in her blood during this time. There may be a bone marrow transplant in her future. Although Canada has an excellent healthcare system, there are still a lot of expenses that will be Carolyn's responsibility. Not to mention still having to pay all the bills back home. Before her diagnosis, Carolyn was working her own company, but now that she cannot work, no money is coming in.
She has so many worries and stresses to deal with right now; let's help her not to have finances as part of them.
