Carrie started has had her battle with cancer.
2001- Uterine cancer followed by complete hysterectomy. We were all hopeful of it not returning.
August 2016 a CT scan showed large malignant masses on her left kidney and ureter.
September 2016- her left kidney and ureter were surgically removed.
We prayed that the cancer was contained, but unfortunately wasn't.
December 2016- a in office cystoscopy revealed two malignant tumors on the floor and left wall of her bladder.
January 2017 the malignant tumors were surgically removed.
Currently, my mother is under going treatment for very aggressive cancer cells within her bladder. For the next 6 weeks she'll undergo chemo bladder washes. Also, other testing such as CT scans, blood work, chest x-rays etc. The doctor is watching to see if the cells were released from the malignant ureter and kidney cancer because that cancer may not have been encased. Therefore, cancerous cells could be released to other parts of her body.
She will be closely monitored throughout her lifetime.
She's now awaiting a call from the hospital to schedule another surgical cystoscopy to see if any more malignant tumors are in the bladder.
