Carrie DeGeorge-Post Surgery Care Expenses (Femur)

Hi my name is Carrie DeGeorge. I have fallen on a situation that I was not prepared for by any means.

This past summer July 2022 I was doing some gardening and found myself tripping in the garden and taking a pretty bad fall onto my left side. Over the months the pain became debilitating. I had a series of MRIs CAT scans x-rays Etc. Unfortunately the results were read improperly and we still couldn't get down to the cause of my debilitating pain.

I was fortunate enough the day before our first storm to see Dr Myers at UB Neurosurgery and he pushed through an emergency MRI of my hip and my upper thigh. The first doctors were sending me to physical therapy to repair a broken back. My back was not broken with the help of Dr Myers and his staff we finally got the answers that we needed and it turns out I have been dealing with a broken hip and a broken femur bone which are pressing on each other and can possibly cause a blood clot if surgery is not performed. I have gotten the opinion of four different doctors and at this point surgery is the only option.

With that being said this is a pretty major surgery especially the femur bone as it is the largest bone and the hardest bone in your body to break. As I said I was not prepared for this accident and will be out of work for about 2 months and will be accumulating medical and home care costs that are above and beyond my financial situation.

This news has been devastating to me as I did not see my life taking a turn with such a major surgery as I'm usually the one being the caretaker not needing the care so I thank you for listening to my story and helping me through the next few months no amount is too small or too big and shares are greatly welcomed. I will keep you all posted on my recovery and once again please pray for me and may God bless all of you in 2023.
