On New Years Day Carrie was hit by a drunk driver while standing on a New York Street, the driver struck a food truck and the truck fell completely over on her, knocking her unconscious and leaving her with multiple broken bones, fractures, the inability to walk, and inability to breast feed her 8 month old son due to the medications she is currently taking to subdue the pain between her surgeries. She has already underwent one surgery and is seeking support for her

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. I was involved in a traumatic incident in NYC where a man, early 40s was trying to escape a hit and run and ran into multiple cars before hitting a food stand that my friend & I was walking near. It ended up knocking me unconscious and pended me under a bus. I was under it unaware of what was happening. I have a few broken bones, fractures, & chipped teeth but thanking God that I’m alive. Nine people were injured in his attempted escape from the hit & run, including 3 police officers. Police caught him shortly after and arrested him. Amidst the chaos of the New Year's incident, I'm holding onto an immense sense of gratitude for life itself. This setback hasn't deterred my belief that something remarkable is still being crafted by God. Despite the injuries sustained in the collision caused by a hit-and-run in NYC, I'm filled with hope and faith in the unfolding of a beautiful new chapter. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated as I navigate this path toward recovery and new beginnings. Most recently she has been given special praises for her philanthropic work serving her hometown of Memphis in her sixth annual toy drive for Christmas and the mayor of Memphis dedicated December 18th as Carrie Bernans Day in the city of Memphis.
