Carry Carrie though Leukemia

Donation protected
On Monday, July 2, 2018, Carrie Mangus went to the emergency room for what she thought was strep throat. She was even prepared for the doctor to tell her that she needed a tonsillectomy. What she was not prepared for was the diagnosis she received: acute leukemia.

Acute leukemia is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Unfortunately, it is known to progress rapidly. To say this news turned her world upside down is an understatement. At 36 years old, Carrie never expected to hear the word “cancer” and is still trying to process her diagnosis. In the short time since, she has come to understand that she has a long journey ahead.

Carrie began chemotherapy on July 5, and will be in and out of the hospital for quite some time, away from her husband Chris and three-year-old daughter Brooklyn. This will undoubtedly be a very trying time for her and her family.

As her friend, I want to first ask for your prayers for Carrie and her family. But I also want to ask for your financial support to “Carry Carrie through Leukemia.” With medical bills already beginning to pile up and many more ahead, I am asking you for a donation – large or small, anything will help.

I will continue to keep you updated on her progress. With friends and family working together in prayer and support, we can all help carry Carrie through leukemia.
