CarryForClimate Interhouse Stretcher Race

On Wykeham day an estimated 500 pupils from across years and houses will take part in an interhouse competition to carry a dummy as far as possible in 5 hours for charity. By sponsoring their friends and family competing the school community from parents to pupils will aim to raise £5000 for WinAcc, the school’s designated local climate charity.

Winchester Action on the Climate Crisis (WinACC) is a local charity. WinAcc worsk to bring communities, Councils, organisations, and people together in Winchester District to respond to the climate crisis and create positive, sustainable change.

The money we aim to raise will be an important contribution to funding from Winchester City council to install solar panels across 20 community buildings in the city of Winchester. In a time when local councils are more stretched than ever, there has never been a more pressing time. These solar panels will slash expensive energy costs, without donations local communities could never afford the expensive set up cost.

We hope parents and pupils will sponsor generously to help the school make a serious contribution to solutions to solve the climate crisis locally around the community the school coexists in.
