Carson Snead's Eagle Scout Project

Hi, my name is Carson Snead. I'm a member of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Troop 570 and am starting my Eagle Project which is a Gaga Pit at PTAA(Pioneer Technology and Arts Academy) located at 15720 Hillcrest Rd, Dallas, TX 75248.

The rank of Eagle Scout in scouting is one of the highest achievements in BSA. I have been in scouting since first grade and am now about to finish my junior year in high school. I am at the point in the journey where I am eligible to complete an Eagle Project. An Eagle Project makes a positive impact on the community and requires a lot of time and effort, but you learn so much about leading and planning in doing so.

I love my community and I visited PTAA last spring for my scout meetings and during those meetings realized that their outdoor activities did not include a Gaga-Pit and when I was in elementary school, my favorite thing to do at recess was to play Gaga-Ball, for those of you who don't know what Gaga-Ball is, it is played in an octagonal pit with a dodgeball, the goal is to be the last one in the pit and you get people out by hitting below their knees with the ball (it's like dodgeball but only below the knees and in an octagonal pit). It can be played with any number of people and is very popular. It was a large part of my childhood growing up so I wanted the students at PTAA to share a little part of a big part of my life.
