Carson is my little cousin.
He is 12 years old and is in 6th grade at Wiley Middle School, in Winston Salem, North Carolina and is one of the sweetest boys I know.
This month his mom took him to the hospital when he complained about a stomach pain. He has since been diagnosed with a solid Pseudopapillary Neoplasm, a rare, low-grade cancer. He will be having surgery on Oct 28, lasting 12 hours, to remove his gallbladder, part of his intestine, some of his stomach, the head of his pancreas, and a vein that connects to his liver because the tumor touched all of these organs. He will be in the hospital for 10 days, and at home for 1 month.
Carson's mom is a single mother of 3 kids, and Carson is her youngest. She is so hard-working and gets NO assistance to care for her kids and pay her bills. She has 2 jobs and works 6 days a week and is a home-care nurse for 2 familes, and not eligible for FMLA. To be able to stay home and care for Carson for over a month, I am asking you to donate any small amount that you can to help cover her bills for rent and groceries. Every $50 will allow her 1 day at home with him. Both of her parents passed away so she is completely alone in all of this.
