Support for Carter & Brayden: In Loving Memory of Eddie Chan
Donation protected
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Eddie Chan, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend and esteemed colleague. Eddie, at the age of 48, left us unexpectedly due to a cardiac event while on a business trip in Costa Rica. His departure has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew him.
Eddie was a devoted husband to his wife, Doreen, and a doting father to their two sons, Carter (11) and Brayden (7). Eddie made the best decision of his life when he proposed to Doreen in the romantic city of Paris and the lovebirds got married in a beautiful ceremony in Bali. Soon after, their first son, Carter, was born, solidifying their bond and bringing newfound joy and purpose to their journey together. Eddie and Doreen navigated all challenges together as one, including when Brayden was born 6 weeks premature, through supporting each other with love and encouragement. Eddie would do anything for Doreen and their two boys, always striving to give them the best life possible. His family was his world, and he dedicated his life to creating a paradise at home where his children could thrive. Eddie transformed their home into a haven with ample space for his boys to play and grow. He cherished every moment spent watching Carter and Brayden play badminton, cheering them on with unwavering pride and joy.
Eddie’s parents, Peter and Cendy, and his sister, Angie, are also deeply mourning the loss of a wonderful son and brother. From the time Angie was born, Eddie was her protector, mentor, and biggest supporter. He took care of her as they grew up, always having her best interests at heart. Eddie’s unwavering support and love helped shape Angie into the person she is today, and his absence leaves an unimaginable void in her life. Eddie was also a devoted son who ensured that his parents were always well cared for. He worked tirelessly to make sure they never had to worry about anything.
Eddie’s passions extended beyond his family. He was an avid golfer, a car enthusiast, and a collector of all things tech. His eyes would light up when he spoke about his latest finds, sharing his excitement with those around him. But more than his hobbies, Eddie will be remembered for his incredible generosity and his remarkable ability to make everyone feel special and cared about.
Eddie was also a hardworking and effective CEO, deeply passionate about his work. His hand-on approach and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues, many of whom became close friends. He was a natural leader who inspired those around him and made a significant impact in his professional life.
A true people person, Eddie had a unique gift for bringing people together. He created a close-knit group of friends called “Chan City” and loved entertaining them in his home. Whether it was hosting a barbeque and cooking his famous steaks, or simply gathering friends and family for a casual get-together, or every New Year’s Eve Party at Chan City for the countdown, Eddie’s warmth and hospitality were unmatched.
Eddie’s family and friends will forever remember him as the most generous person they have ever met, someone who truly lived life to the fullest, and someone who made a lasting impact on every life he touched. He had a heart of gold, always ensuring that everyone around him had what they needed, often putting others’ needs before his own.
We have created this GoFundMe campaign to support Doreen, Carter and Brayden during this incredibly difficult time. The funds raised will help cover unexpected expenses and provide some financial stability as they navigate life without Eddie, their steadfast provider. Ensuring that Carter and Brayden will have access to the education they deserve is now more critical than ever. Your generous contributions will help secure their educational future, providing them with the stability and opportunities they need to thrive despite this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and will help honour Eddie’s legacy of love and generosity.
Thank you for your support, thoughts, and prayers. Eddie may be gone from our sight, but he will forever be in our hearts.
