Carter Cornell Education Fund: in memory of Aaron

On July 23, 2022, I lost my best friend Aaron to a struggle with mental health. To those that knew him, it's hard to fathom how someone so brilliant, talented, and loving could leave this earth in such a tragic way. Adding to the pain is the concern about whether his 7-year-old son Carter's memory of his father will match the man we knew Aaron to be. Aaron was insatiably curious, loved to learn, and was incredibly good at it. Valedictorian of Damien High School, he finished his degree at UCSD early, and got his Master's degree pursuing a profession that helps those in need. Aaron always wanted to know how everything worked and found true enjoyment/fulfillment in teaching others. I was one of those recipients, and whether we were studying for high school/college tests or backpacking the John Muir Trail, I learned so much from him. His son Carter was lucky to get seven years of life's lessons from his father, but their learning journey together has stopped short.

Let's join together and make a lasting gift to help provide Carter with an education that Aaron would be proud of. 100% of this fund will go toward Carter's education to help him grow into the curious intellectual that was his father. We have coordinated with Carter's mother and grandparents (Aaron's parents) to set up a 529 college savings plan. Thank you for anything you can contribute.
