Carter's Cancer Journey
Donation protected
Five years ago, Aaron and Angie began a relationship with Children’s Hospital of Atlanta when their firstborn son, Tristen was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma at only 4 weeks of age. Every month, they would take him to CHOA for his chemo treatment, Evaluations Under Anesthesia (EUA), MRI’s, and laser treatments. But that was just the beginning of their relationship with CHOA. Two years later, their second son, Caison was born with Retinoblastoma and the cycle of treatments, EUA’s and MRI’s began again. Six months ago, Cater was born, cancer free, until January 6th, when a two tumors were discovered in his eyes. They are about to embark on this cancer journey for the third time. Carter will begin 6 months of chemotherapy and continued laser treatments to keep the tumors at bay. As a parent, you would do anything to provide the best health care for your children, whatever it costs! And it does cost almost everything you have if your child faces a medical illness or disease. Now imagine that cost times three! Because of the exorbitant expense to beat cancer, Aaron and Angie sold their home and moved in with family to save money to pay for the medical bills. As you can imagine, the “unknowns” of dealing with cancer are stressful enough without the added financial stress associated with the numerous doctor visits, hospital stays, and missed time from work. Every day they walk by faith believing that the Great Physician knows their every need. Please keep this family in your prayers as they face each new challenge associated with childhood cancer head on. If you are able, and are moved to help, any financial assistance you can provide for medical expenses can be donated through this GoFundMe account.
