Carter’s Golf Career
I started playing golf when I was 5 years old and quickly fell in love. I have been playing competitively for more than 10 years and have loved every bit of it. I began playing golf in college at Virginia Wesleyan University, a small division three school located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. I had always been a late bloomer when it came to golf, so I knew I was capable of making a huge impact at the program. After two years, I transferred to Old Dominion University as a walk-on where I quickly gained a scholarship. This move proved to be very beneficial to me as my golf game excelled after this point. I was a participant in the 2019 U.S. Amateur Championship as well as a two-time champion at Old Dominion. I can credit my development to my coaches, teammates, friends, and family along the way for pushing me. My goal is to continue improving in the game I love which led me to my decision to pursue golf professionally as a career.
As many of you know, playing professional golf is extremely expensive with some events costing more than $1,000. With sufficient funding, I will be able to compete this fall on the Gpro tour as well as various Monday qualifiers. My goal is to participate in PGA Latinoamerica Q-school as well as Mackenzie Tour Q-school come spring time. Any donations would help tremendously and could help me chase my dream of playing golf at the highest level. This money would be used for tournament entry fees, travel, lodging, and equipment costs. I am grateful for this opportunity and I hope one day to be able to help others find love for the game of golf that I have.
