Cartoonist James (JD) Williamson has Leukemia

Hi, I'm Tina Williamson and my husband, cartoonist James (JD) has Leukemia. He has been in the James Cancer Hospital for close to a month. They are giving him arsenic treatments as well as chemotherapy. He is showing improvement, but still has months of out-patent treatments when he finally gets to come home.

We got blindsided with this illness and I had to take leave from work. He has not had much work since the Covid shutdown and making ends meet was already hard. Things were getting back to normal when this last wave of Covid shutdowns hit and JD's jobs were cancelled. We still need to pay for everything, including insurance and with no money coming in that is quickly draining our small bank account.

Covid has made it hard to keep everything going and now, with me not working either, it is making it even harder. With weekly trips to the cancer center for me and gas prices, food, etc... It is hard to make ends meet. We have had help from family and are very great full, but it isn't enough.

On top of everything else, our home needs some repairs: a new roof, new sub floors are the main things. We were trying to put a little aside for the repairs, but this illness has taken all of the savings. Our insurance will pay for part of his illness costs, but not all, so those bills will be rolling in on top of all other expenses.

Even a few dollars would be a help. I know there are a lot of people out there needing help, but for those of you lucky enough to still have an income what you can give is priceless.
