Casa Vieja Restoration Project

My name is Maria Socha. My parents and I are starting a wedding and event venue in Corrales, NM called "Casa Vieja". The building itself is beautiful and historic. It has long been a staple of the Village of Corrales. Casa has been a variety of things over the course of its' long history from a home, to a monastery to most recently, a restaurant. However, the building has been vacant for over 5 years and is in serious need of repairs and rennovations. We are excited about bringing Casa back to life, giving it new purpose and honoring its’ remarkable history and cultural designation, but we need your help to do it! 

We are investing a lot of time and money into the project, but some of the more in depth repairs are beyond the scope of our personal financial capabilites- which is where you come in!

We hope to use the money for the following projects:
- landscaping the property (front and interior courtyards, planters and side yards) 
- a new roof (a cost of around $80,000)
- a drainage system installed along the north side of the building to prevent moisture from soaking into the adobe walls (a cost of around $40,000-$60,000)
-restoring and/or replacing some of the vigas on the portal and interior of the building that are damaged (as well as the wooden decking above them)
