Casey during this healing process

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time and interest, it is so much appreciated. 

To start, Casey has been through more medical issues in his 30+ years than I feel anyone should have to deal with in a life time. This passed October he had some swelling in his left foot and with being a type 1 diabetic for the last 20 years and his history of cancer and chemo, he knew he couldn’t wait and needed to see a doctor. 3 years ago he had the same issue with his right foot and ended up in an amputation so as soon as he was able, he went straight to the emergency room. After some blood tests and X-rays it was found that he had a serious bacterial infection into the bone of his foot and once again the only option he had was to have emergency surgery and amputate his big toe. After spending 11 days in the hospital he was discharged with a wound vac (a machine to help his foot heal) and an I.V. Antibiotic, both needing to be attached 24 hours a day 7 days a week for 6-8 weeks. Needless to say he has been and is unable to work and after all of this time of being told not to walk and to stay off his feet for the entire process, everything starts to pile up. Healing is going well, he’s been doing everything he can to make sure he is healing correctly and can get back to LIFE. Casey is the most patient, positive person I’ve ever known especially after everything he has been through. It is NOT easy to handle, mentally or physically and also never easy to ask for help but sometimes we all hit a rough patch and need a little more help than others. With our daughters birthday and the holidays coming up, there’s that much more to worry about. There is no actual goal in mind, just putting this out there for anyone who has offered and/or is willing/able to help take some weight off his shoulders and ease minds during the rest of this healing process, until he can get back to work. Anyone who has helped Casey, been there for him in any way, passed or future, is appreciated beyond words. We really can not express how thankful we are for every one of you, friends and family.
