Casey Hale on his Recovery Journey

Donation protected
Casey Hale devoted 35 years to Chevron and retired 3 years ago. He thought the best was yet to come, but unfortunately, it was not meant to be. He always had a smile on his face that showed he was positive and happy. Before Casey retired, he decided to have weight loss surgery in order to improve his quality of life. This decision was based on the hope that it would reduce his risk of developing obesity-related health problems and make it easier for him to be physically active. He was successful in losing a lot of weight by cutting out carbs and sugar and working out for at least an hour every day. He had minor surgery 18 months ago and his spine was damaged. This left him unable to move his legs. He was in rehabilitation for over 10 months before he was able to go home. Casey has used up most of his personal savings to pay for travel and medical expenses that are not covered by insurance.
Every trip to the doctor (usually once or twice a week) costs $200 in transportation costs for each trip. He has not received any help from government agencies. The first home health agency made a coding error when billing the insurance company, which resulted in the patient not receiving the home health visits they needed for the year. He is paying for caregiver services out of his own pocket every other day. He isn't receiving all the therapy he requires. The primary and wound doctors have both communicated the necessary services to the insurance company, but are still waiting for a response. They have explained what needs to be done in order to treat the patient, but have not yet received approval from the insurance company. He will not be eligible for Medicare coverage until June 2023.
Casey is an independent guy who doesn't like to ask for help. I thought it would be beneficial for us to assist a friend who is struggling. This had a negative impact on his wife and family. He is a generous person who would be willing to give you anything he has. If you know anyone who may have been helped by him, please share this with them. I appreciate your help with this matter.
