Casey O’Leary Surgery

Like most, 2020 has been exceptionally hard on our family. In April I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian cancer, my husband, who is my sole caregiver, came down with Covid. If that weren’t enough, we lost life-long friends to Covid. Although I have recently been declared free of cancer, 2020 wasn’t done with my family. Our daughter-in-law Casey has been struggling with severe Crohn’s since age fourteen. Before 2020 was over she was told she had to have surgery to help relieve her scarring and blockage. This surgery will require her to be hospitalized for up to a week and she will have an ileostomy bag for some time after that. This will require her to miss a significant time off of work, possibly several months. Because she has suffered greatly with this disease, she has already exhausted all of her leave time which will put her family, including her three small children, in severe financial hardship. We know all of you have already been burdened with so much this year but we ask that any donation, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference in this difficult time of recovery.
