Casey's Cancer Fight

Donation protected
Have you ever met someone and knew instantly that they were going to be a special part of your life? Have you ever been friends with someone who has touched your life in more ways than you can count? Casey Bequeath is one of those one-of-a-kinda people. His soft demeanor, his loving heart, and kind words have made a lasting impression with all that know him. He is always there for a friend in need and as a loving husband, father and grandfather he is tirelessly devoted to his family.

A few weeks ago Casey was diagnosed with sinus cancer, specifically stage 4 spindle cell carcinoma. Sinus cancer a silent cancer going undetected as it grows and is usually only found once it has invaded everything nearby. This, unfortunately, is the case with Casey. Tomorrow (February 23rd, 2017) he is undergoing sinus surgery to remove the cancer. Since this can be a very deadly and invasive cancer the surgery to remove it is very extensive. This surgery will be a minimum of 12 hours and will consist of the removal of his right eye, the vast majority of his teeth, the bone surrounding his eye and jaw and the roof of his mouth. Then, with very little time to recover he will start a regimen of simultaneously enduring chemotherapy and radiation. All of this is being done out of state because his cancer is too involved and extensive to be handled effectively here in Boise. He will be in Salt Lake for a minimum of 10 days following the surgery and then again for six weeks for the daily chemo and radiation treatments.

I know Casey’s faith and inner strength will carry him through this. Though, as I think about what Casey is facing, a life changing surgery exacting an unbelievable physical toll, and the stress his family will endure, I have decided to create this page. I’ve had so many people ask me how they can help Casey and Rhonda, but because they will be out of town for the duration of his treatment, bringing them meals and other more traditional forms of support will be difficult. I know any donation will be a great help and I am hoping this page will help offset some of the medical fees and the cost of an extended stay in Salt Lake, thus relieving some of the stress the financial burden of all of this will create.

Casey is only 61, a great friend to so many and a family man who is facing the challenge of his life. Thank you for keeping Casey and his family in your thoughts and prayers and any donation will help more than words can express.
