Casey Thrower is a loving husband, son, uncle, and friend. In 2009 Casey was diagnosed with Arnold Chiari Malformation Type 1. Up until 2009 Casey was in the process of working on getting his major in Music Education and was a member of the University of South Alabama Choir and the South Alabama Chorale. He also led the Youth Worship band at his church. His diagnosis of Chiari Malformation was found by the severe headaches Casey suffered. Chiari Malformation is a congenital malformation. It is generally asymptomatic during childhood, but often manifests with headaches and cerebellar symptoms. Herniation of cerebellar tonsils.Tonsillar ectopia of more than 3 mm below foramen magnum. Syringomyelia of cervical or cervicothoracic spinal cord can be seen. This type is difficult to diagnose and treat. Casey suffered form extreme headaches, numbness in arms and legs, slurred speech, nausea, and other various problems. Though Chiari type 1 usually manifests during childhood, Casey was in his mid-twenties when diagnosed. He had two surgeries, one in 2010 and another in 2011, to try and get the condition under control. Throughout 2014 Casey has had old and new symptoms emerge. Along with the headaches and numbness in arms and legs, Casey has had new symptoms that have started to appear. The new symptoms range from dizziness, ringing in his ears, problems swallowing, mood swings, and problems with other bodily functions. With the difficulty of his legs going numb, headaches, dizziness, and other problems he is now having, have made it difficult for Casey to work, This has led to him having take a leave of absence from work. This leaves Robbi, Casey's wife, the only one working. This page is setup to help Robbi and Casey pay for any tests, procedures, medicines, or out of pocket expense that my come from getting treatment. If you can help please donate what you can and help spread the word for Robbi and Casey. If you cannot help with donations than please help spread this around and keep this family in your thoughts and prayers. If you would like to learn more about Chiari Malformation please check out:
