Hereford Make - Forging a Future!
Donation protected
Hereford Make helps people forge their future and fulfil their potential through heritage crafts, skill-building and employment by accessing tools and equipment people cannot normally afford.
Hereford is the home of blacksmithing, with the National School of Blacksmithing situated here.
This means we have helped a large number of people over the years, find self-employment and a meaningful trade where they have been excluded from traditional work due to additional needs.
Many of these have had complex needs, but have gone on to pass their formal education, start careers and complete ambitious projects.
“Hereford Make became a sanctuary for me."
"I have an acquired brain injury, which left me with lifelong health issues, as well as acute PTSD and depression. Without Hereford Make, not only would I not be a blacksmith now, I wouldn’t be alive to tell you this.”
“I have worked at home and abroad, started my own business, been on television, and made work for the King. This is my story. Without Hereford Make, it would have been a much shorter one, amongst others. This is why we are such an important resource for the community.”
We need your help.
We were unsuccessful with a grant application and all our contingency plans have failed for the first time in the 10 years of doing this.
We are under extreme threat of closure and must raise £10,000
to secure our premises to continue delivery of service.
We have not been able to get funds from local institutions, such as local government.
Please help today to keep the us forging ahead and providing a future for people at risk of social and economic isolation.
