CASH TRASH BASH V
Donation protected
Well, Cash Trash Bashers....it's been three long years since we last embarked on this journey together. I decided that it was high time to quit the holiday from this initiative that I hold near and dear to my heart and get to picking up some marine trash once again.
Much has changed since our Cash Trash Bash IV in 2019 when we donated funds to Lionfish Task Force and I am Water. Sadly there is still trash in our oceans. I'm going to try to make a small dent in pollution under the sea, and I thank you for helping me do so.
For those that are new here, the long and short of it is this: I am trying to, over three months (June, July and August 2022), rack up 30 days of free diving in Bermuda's ocean to collect marine trash. My goal is to remove 2,500 pounds from our beautiful waters, and I am asking you to donate $1 for every pound of trash that I remove. And then the money that I've raised will benefit two charities: one local and one overseas.
This year the charities that I have selected are:
I wanted to take it back to who I started this initiative for: Michelle (Skinner) Howard. I thought that two charities - one run by JP Skinner here in Bermuda and another that she contributes to in her new home in Yorkshire, UK made sense to me this year.
I hope you will choose to support this initiative, whether with funds or time. Folks are always welcome to come trash diving with me!
Each day we make a choice. Cash Trash Bash reminds me that I choose Joy. I hope you do too.
