Cash Trash Bash VII

Well hello there and thank you for taking the time to click a link to bring you here. This is a fundraiser that spans three generations who are all passionately involved to raise awareness of the marine pollution problem that faces our ocean in the island of Bermuda.

My name is Karen Plianthos and myself, along with my mom Louise Jones, my two daughters Ophelia (5) and Grace (4) and numerous other willing and unwilling (like my husband Nicolas Plianthos! :-)) volunteers will be spending the month of August 2024 removing trash from the oceans, beaches and coastlines of Bermuda.

I am kindly asking for donations of $1 for every 1 pound of trash that we collect. I am hopeful that from August 5th to September 5th we will be able to get out into our Bermudaful waters at least enough times to collect up 2204.62 pounds of trash - or 1 TON OF TRASH!

All monies raised will be split equally between two charities one local and one international that is environmentally focused. Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute https://buei.bm - camp programs for the youth of Bermuda specifically is the local charity selected this year and The Eternal Forest https://www.eternalforest.org is the international charity in northern Wales.

For those wanting to understand why my brother Wayne Jones is the recipient of the funds, it is due to the requirement of a US based account to use this donation platform - please note that all monies received will be distributed to the two charities above.

Thank you for giving whether it be your time if you want to come with us and pick up trash, your money to help us support these two incredible charities or your encouragement to keep us on track to reach our goal! Last year we pulled 2,149.74 pounds of trash from Bermuda's waters over 25 dive days and from generous individuals' donations raised $1,188.38. I am hopeful to make this year even bigger than Cash Trash Bash VI and thank you so much for helping us get there!
