CASPER NORDIC SKIERS 2024

CASPER HIGH PLAINS NORDIC SKIERS HEAD FOR US SKI AND SNOWBOARD JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS, Lake Placid, New York – March 2024

There is a long way to go and a very short time to get there! Donations are greatly needed and appreciated! The team is set there are seven Nordic skiers from Kelly Walsh and Natrona High Schools who have qualified for the US Ski and Snowboard Cross Country Junior National Championship to be held in Lake Placid, New York in March!

Congratulations to Ally Wheeler (not pictured), Luke Schmidt, Fisk Johansson, Emma Pearson, Luke Pearson, Hunter Pickett, and Everett Roberson. Qualifying for Junior Nationals is a huge honor that takes years of practice, commitment, and training. These seven Casper skiers will join 12 other qualified skiers from Wyoming and Montana to make up High Plains Nordic Team. US Ski and Snowboard Junior National Championships draws over 500 of the top 14-19 years old skiers from 10 different regional teams in the US for a week of challenging racing events.

Many of these skiers love to give back to their Casper community by volunteer coaching for the Casper Nordic Club’s Mangus ski lessons. They also volunteer for “Taste of Trails” event held at the Casper Nordic Trails.

Casper Nordic Club is a 501c (4) tax-exempt nonprofit helping support our local skiers, ensuring all the money raised locally goes to these skiers. All donations are tax deductible and an EIN will be provided upon request.

High Plans Nordic Ski Education Association is a United States Ski and Snowboard Association sanctioned division. High Plains provides the important opportunity to Eastern Montana, the Dakotas, and Wyoming high school skiers to compete at the National and International levels.

The cost of attending this national competition is $5,000 per skier for transportation, lodging, meals, race fees, coaching, and equipment.
